Our story
Two cameras.
One shared obsession.
Apex Visuals started in 2019 in a garage on East Cesar Chavez. Jake Morrison and Ana Reyes had spent five years shooting for agencies that treated video as the last line item on the budget. The brief was always the same: "just make it look professional."
Professional is the floor, not the ceiling. They started Apex to prove that a small crew with a clear vision could outperform a 30-person production house. Six years and 200+ projects later, the garage is gone but the crew is still small on purpose.
We keep our team tight because every person on set should be making creative decisions, not holding a clipboard. Eight full-time. A trusted roster of freelance specialists for when the project demands it. That's the model.
How we think
Beliefs that cost us clients
We've walked away from six-figure contracts that didn't align. These aren't marketing copy. They're the decisions we actually make.
Small crews make better films
Every person on set should be making creative decisions. We'll never be 30 people. The work is better for it.
Pre-production is 70% of the outcome
The shoot is the easy part. Concept, shot list, and creative alignment before anyone picks up a camera - that's where films are won or lost.
Budget honesty over budget padding
We'll tell you what your budget can realistically achieve. If it's not enough, we'll say so. Surprising you with overages isn't a business model.
The best camera in the world is worthless without a story worth telling
